Visualised X Little Simz

Hello lovelies,

A little while back, I was invited to Little Simz' album launch by a friend of mine, Holly (the fashion illustrator) as her work was being showcased during an exclusive launch at the Red Bull Studios. Which I was really excited about for two reasons:1. I had not had the chance to see one of Holly's pieces in real life and 2. The opportunity had never risen for me to go to an album launch. So I guess you could say that night was a evening full of firsts (pun intended!).

One thing that you may notice if you know Little Simz music and something I quickly noticed is that I was a tad bit overdressed for the occasion. Although the Oscar Wilde quote
“You can never be overdressed or overeducated.” may spring to mind, as it did for me when I wore this outfit.

However this definitely was not that type of moment and I would have rather been underdressed. In hindsight I would have probably wore a different outfit e.g. Loose tee, jeans and trainers but hey you live and you learn!

On with the evening, it was a good night out. Not what I have been accustom too from going to various fashion but it definitely made me feel very nostalgic of my younger years when I was heavily into rap.  Although saying that, I definitely did have a good time, sipping the delicious Rum and apple concoctions that were served and listening and dancing to Little Simz' live performance (complied of 5 songs). Also I must say that she seems like a really cool and down to earth girl who mingled with everyone during the night.

So I would definitely recommend listening to Little Simz album, as you may just like a song or 3!

Until next time lovelies,
Lizzie

#5viewbloggers Event

Hello lovelies,

I hope you are well. Late last month you may have seen the hashtag #5ViewBloggers floating around Twitter and Instagram, which all came about thanks to the lovely and highly organised Jess and Albertine . Who arranged the #5ViewBloggers event that was a relaxed and informal social networking event, which was held at the chic hidden gem,  5 View Bar (at the top of Waterstones Piccadilly).

The intimate event ran for a couple hours, in the late afternoon on a very British rainy day. So it was nice to seek solace, in the warmth of a comfortable bar surrounding by good company and lovely brands. I really do love smaller events as it is nice to get to know everyone in the room and not feel swamped by music or a sea of bodies. Also if you know me, you will know I love a good chat! ;)

All in all, I am glad I made it out to the event because as I write this post, I feel really reflective on my blogging journey. As when I first started blogging, I felt so included in the blogging community due to the fact that I regularly involved myself in all the blogging chats on Twitter and also interacting with others via Twitter and the comment section on blogs. However as time past and I started university, I found (inevitably) that I had less time to blog and also life got in the way. Which led to me going through a series of  blips, when I wanted to interact with bloggers but sometimes felt out of the loop. Which is why I am so glad that I am starting to get back into reading blogs, going to blogger meet-ups and not only making 'blogging friends' but actual friends. As it is always so nice to meet and talk to a person/people who you feel you can share a commonality with or who understands certain things; because even though it does not seem like it blogging and the craft of writing can be quite lonely. So it is nice to know you have people you know you can reach out to, if need be.

Thanks for the goodies!

Congrats Jess and Albertine, you did a great job on your first blogging event together!

Until next time lovelies,
Lizzie
